Anne Lee | Founder of Mind & Music Academy, Academic Tutor & Music Teacher
Hi! I am a former Montgomery County Public Schools teacher and have taught in the county for 5 years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland- College Park, and a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Before teaching in the classroom, I began my teaching career in music with piano and violin, teaching privately to students as young as 5-years old to teens and young adults. My passion is in both academic and music education. I am committed to helping students reach their fullest academic potential and understanding so they may succeed and thrive in society, and I care deeply about the development of the whole child which includes their physical and social-emotional well-being. I am equally dedicated to introducing the joys and benefits of playing music to people of all ages. Playing music has brought me so much happiness, and has helped me get through some of the hardest times in my life. This is my 10th year teaching piano and violin and I look forward to continuing for many more years.
My approach to teaching is developmentally appropriate, patient, kind and engaging. My goal is to ensure students can learn how to play the piano and violin, but that they also learn to love it and appreciate it. Outside of teaching in the general education classroom and teaching privately, I’ve been in several orchestras, including the Washington Youth Foundation Orchestra and the Washington Gamers Symphony Orchestra. I have performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall in New York.
